A GSM alarm panel for premises that need proper zoning. This is the control panel rather than a starter kit, intended for installations where you are specifying sensors yourself or extending an existing system. It supports multiple zones, has a built-in keypad, a metal enclosure, backup battery support, and a siren output, and it communicates over the mobile network using a SIM card.
Why GSM rather than internet. A GSM panel calls and texts your phone over the mobile network. It does not depend on broadband, a router, or WiFi, which makes it genuinely independent of both internet outages and load shedding affecting your router. For a shop, a warehouse, a farmhouse, or any premises without reliable internet, GSM is often the only sensible option. It also means an intruder cutting a telephone or broadband line does not disable your alerting.
Understanding zones. A zone is a group the panel monitors separately, so when the alarm triggers you know which area was breached rather than only that something happened. The usual approach is to zone by area: front door and windows as one zone, rear as another, upstairs as another, garage or outbuilding as another. For a business, zone by department or by floor. Good zoning turns an alarm from a noise into information.
What you need alongside the panel. The panel is the brain and needs sensors, a siren, and power. Typically that means door and window contacts on entry points, motion sensors covering internal routes, an external siren loud enough to be heard from the street, and a backup battery. Metal enclosure and why it matters. The panel is the first thing an intruder will attack if they find it. A metal enclosure, mounted out of easy reach and ideally not immediately visible from the entry point, is meaningfully harder to disable than a plastic box in the hallway. Position matters as much as specification.
Backup battery and load shedding. The panel supports a backup battery so it continues protecting the premises during outages. This is not optional in Pakistan; an alarm without backup power is disarmed every time the electricity goes, which is both predictable and widely known. Size the battery for a realistic outage duration, not the minimum.
SIM card practicalities. The panel needs an active SIM with credit or a valid package. The most common failure we hear about is a prepaid SIM that has expired through inactivity, so the panel appears healthy for months and then cannot call anyone when it matters. Programme multiple recipient numbers so an alert reaches someone even if one phone is off.
Programming recipient numbers. Set at least two or three numbers, ideally including someone who is usually near the premises. A panel that calls only the owner is useless when the owner is travelling. Test the call and SMS function after installation and again periodically, because untested alerting is assumed alerting.

Does it need internet? No. It operates entirely over the mobile network using a SIM card.
