An add-on motion sensor for the W105 alarm panel. This wireless PIR detector pairs with the W105 SOS alarm system to extend coverage into rooms your original kit did not reach. It is an expansion component rather than a standalone device, so it needs a W105 panel to work.

When you need one. Most people buy these after living with their alarm for a few weeks and finding a gap: a back room, an upstairs landing, a store room, or a newly converted space. Because the panel supports additional sensors, you extend the system rather than replacing it.

Where to put it. Cover the route an intruder must cross rather than every room. A sensor on the hallway or landing that connects the entry point to the rest of the property is worth more than three sensors in rooms nobody would reach first. Aim it across the space, not along the direction someone would walk toward it, because PIR detects movement across its field far better than movement straight at it.

Avoiding false alarms. Keep it away from windows with direct sun, air conditioner outlets, heaters, and curtains that move in a draught. If you have pets, tell us before ordering, because a standard PIR will detect a cat crossing a room and repeated false alarms are the fastest route to someone disabling the system.

Battery and power. It runs on its own battery and reports low battery through the panel, so replacement is planned rather than discovered after a failure. Being wireless and battery powered, it keeps detecting through load shedding.

Will it work with a different alarm panel? It is designed for the W105 system. Tell us your panel model before ordering and we will confirm compatibility rather than have you return it.
