The Wireless Door & Window Sensor is an essential security accessory designed to work with the W105 SOS Alarm Panel. It uses magnetic contact technology to detect when a door or window is opened or closed.

When the two parts are separated, the sensor immediately sends a wireless signal to the alarm panel, triggering an alert. This helps prevent unauthorized entry and improves overall security for homes, shops, offices, and warehouses.

Its slim and lightweight design makes it easy to install on doors, windows, cabinets, and sliding panels without damaging surfaces. With stable wireless transmission and low battery consumption, this sensor ensures reliable long-term performance.

An add-on door and window sensor for the W105 alarm panel. This wireless magnetic contact pairs with the W105 SOS alarm system so you can protect additional doors and windows beyond those covered by your original kit. It is an expansion component and needs a W105 panel to function.

How it works. Two parts: a sensor containing a reed switch fixed to the frame, and a magnet fixed to the door or window. While closed, the magnet holds the switch in position. Opening the door moves the magnet away, the switch changes state, and the panel is signalled. Nothing moves mechanically, so there is nothing to wear out.

Which openings to cover. Every external door first, then any window a person could realistically climb through, particularly ground floor windows and anything reachable from a boundary wall, a roof, or a balcony. Perimeter contacts are the most valuable sensors in any alarm because they detect entry at the moment it happens, rather than after someone is already inside.

Fitting it properly. Clean both surfaces before using adhesive, since dust and grease are the usual reason pads fail after a few weeks. Align the two halves directly opposite each other and keep the closed gap within the rated distance, which is a small number of millimetres. On metal doors and window frames, if reporting becomes unreliable, fit a thin non metallic spacer, because metal distorts the magnetic field.

Why alignment matters. Almost every reported fault turns out to be alignment rather than a failed sensor. Timber swells in monsoon humidity and shrinks in dry heat, so a contact fitted at the edge of tolerance in one season drifts out of range in another. Fit the halves centred and check again a few weeks later.

Battery and load shedding. It runs on its own battery, reports low battery through the panel, and continues detecting during power outages since it does not depend on mains supply.

Will it work with another alarm panel? It is made for the W105 system. Confirm your panel model with us before ordering.

Can I use it on a metal shutter? Usually, with a spacer, though for steel rolling shutters a dedicated wired shutter contact is the more reliable choice and we stock those.
