Alarm sensors in Pakistan start at Rs 1,800 for a wired PIR motion detector, Rs 2,500–4,000 for smoke, heat and gas detectors, and Rs 13,499–35,000 for outdoor dual-beam perimeter sensors covering 50 to 250 metres. ZZ Marts stocks 18 detection devices — motion, smoke, heat, gas, shock and beam — with stores in Karachi and Lahore.

Matching the sensor to the threat
Sensors detect, sirens deter — do not confuse the two
A detector's only job is to notice something and tell the panel. What actually ends an intrusion is the siren. A carefully chosen set of sensors wired to a weak sounder is the wrong way round.
Motion for rooms, contacts for openings, beams for boundaries
A PIR covers a volume of space and tells you someone is already inside. A door contact tells you the moment an opening is breached, before that. A beam sensor guards a line — a boundary wall, a yard, a roof — and warns you before anyone reaches the building. Layer them; do not pick one.
Smoke or heat is decided by the room, not the budget
Smoke detectors belong in bedrooms, offices, corridors and stairwells. In a kitchen, workshop, garage or generator room, cooking smoke, steam and dust cause constant false alarms — use a heat detector, which reacts to temperature rise instead. Fitting a smoke detector in a kitchen is the fastest way to get an alarm system disconnected by its own owner.
Gas and CO detectors cover what smoke detectors miss
A combustible gas leak detector watches for LPG and natural gas. A CO detector watches for the odourless product of incomplete combustion — a real risk with gas geysers and generators indoors. Neither is detected by a smoke alarm.
Beam range is a straight-line figure
A 50-metre beam covers a domestic boundary. 100 and 250-metre models are for plots, factories and farms. Quoted ranges assume clear line of sight; rain, dust and fog reduce them, so specify above the distance you actually need.
Shock sensors catch the attempt, not the entry
A vibration detector on a shutter, safe or window frame reacts to the drilling or levering — which means the alarm goes off while someone is still outside.
Mount PIRs across the room, not at the door
Roughly 2–2.5 metres high, in a corner, facing across the space rather than at a door or window. Keep them away from direct sun, heaters and air-conditioning outlets, all of which produce the temperature changes a PIR is built to notice.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a smoke detector and a heat detector?
A smoke detector reacts to smoke particles and suits bedrooms, offices and corridors. A heat detector reacts to a rise in temperature and suits kitchens, workshops and garages, where smoke or steam would trigger constant false alarms.
Where should I install a PIR motion sensor?
Around 2–2.5 metres high, in a corner, aimed across the room rather than at a door or window, and away from sunlight, heaters and air conditioning.
How much do alarm sensors cost in Pakistan?
Wired PIR motion detectors start around Rs 1,800, smoke and heat detectors Rs 2,500–4,000, and outdoor dual-beam perimeter sensors Rs 13,499 for 50 metres up to Rs 35,000 for 250 metres.
Do beam sensors false-trigger from animals or birds?
Dual-beam models require both beams to break at once, which filters out birds and small animals. Single-beam sensors are more prone to it, which is why dual beam is standard for perimeters.
Do I need a CO detector as well as a smoke detector?
If you have a gas geyser, gas heater or a generator anywhere near living space, yes. Carbon monoxide has no smell and does not set off a smoke alarm.
Will these sensors work with my existing alarm panel?
The wired sensors here use standard NO/NC contacts and work with any conventional panel. The Tuya WiFi and W105 wireless sensors pair only with their own systems.
