Frequently asked questions
How much does a Cat6 keystone jack cost in Pakistan?
The Corning Volition Cat6 UTP keystone jack (VOL6UPL3B) costs Rs 400 at ZZ Marts.
What is a patch panel used for?
A patch panel brings the network cables from around a building into one row of ports in the rack. Short patch cords then connect each port to the switch, so you can move a connection without re-wiring the wall. The Corning 24-port Cat6 patch panel takes 1U of rack space and costs Rs 4,500.
Do I need a PDU in my rack?
A rack PDU gives the equipment in the cabinet its own row of power sockets mounted in the rack, instead of a loose extension board. The 8-port 19-inch PDU costs Rs 4,000.
How does a 4G SIM router work?
Insert a 4G SIM and switch it on. The Mercusys MB115-4G shares the mobile internet over 300 Mbps 2.4GHz WiFi with up to 32 devices, with no phone line and no setup needed. It costs Rs 11,800.
Where can I buy networking equipment in Karachi and Lahore?
From ZZ Marts (Zam Zam Traders), with stores in Saddar, Karachi and Garhi Shahu, Lahore, and delivery across Pakistan.
