WiFi light switches: control lights from your phone
A WiFi light switch connects to your home router and works with the Tuya and Smart Life apps, so you can switch lights from anywhere, set schedules and use Alexa or Google Assistant. The cheapest option is a WiFi mini switch module (Rs 1,649) fitted behind your existing switch. To replace the switch itself, a glass WiFi touch switch costs Rs 4,299, a 4-gang touch switch with fan speed control Rs 7,800, and 8-gang panels Rs 6,799 to Rs 8,100.
Before you buy, check two things: most WiFi switches need a neutral wire in the switch board, and they connect on 2.4GHz WiFi, not 5GHz. Our neutral wire guide explains how to check.
Wireless remote light switches: no WiFi needed
A remote light switch uses a key-fob remote on the 433MHz radio band, so it works with no WiFi or internet at all. The 220V RF433 switch module (Rs 2,299) handles loads up to 10A, comes with two remotes and fits inside a switchboard or junction box. If you want phone control as well, the WiFi + RF433 mini smart switch (Rs 2,299) plus an RF433 remote (Rs 700) gives you both for Rs 2,999, and the remote keeps working when the WiFi is down.
Motion sensor light switches: lights that switch themselves
A motion sensor light switch is a 220V PIR sensor that turns the light on when someone walks past and off again after a set delay. It saves electricity in stairs, corridors, bathrooms, store rooms and porches. A PIR wall switch rated 200W replaces an ordinary switch for Rs 2,000; small sensors that fit into a light fitting start at Rs 799. With no wiring at all, a motion sensor LED bulb costs Rs 1,049 and an E27 bulb holder sensor Rs 1,500.
Looking for a push button light switch?
The round metal push buttons we sell, such as the 22mm metal push button with RGB light (Rs 800), are panel switches for control boxes, machines and DIY projects. They mount through a drilled panel, not a standard wall switch plate. For a one-press switch on the wall, a glass touch switch is the modern equivalent, and you can add phone control at the same time.
Which light switch should you choose?
- You want app control, schedules or voice: a WiFi switch or WiFi module.
- You want a simple remote with no WiFi: an RF433 remote switch.
- You want lights that switch themselves: a PIR motion sensor switch or a motion sensor bulb.
- You want a modern look on the wall: a glass touch switch.
- The circuit runs a fan, geyser or AC: do not use a plain light switch; use a switch with fan control or a 30A switch rated for the load.
All of these switch mains power, so have an electrician wire them, and keep within each switch's rated load.
Warranty: 1 year, not covering units that are burnt or physically damaged.

Frequently asked questions
What types of light switch can I buy in Pakistan?
At ZZ Marts there are four types: WiFi switches you control from your phone (from Rs 1,649), glass touch switches (Rs 4,299 to Rs 8,100), wireless remote switches with a key-fob remote (Rs 2,299), and motion sensor switches that turn the light on when someone walks in (from Rs 799).
What is the cheapest way to control a light from my phone?
A WiFi mini switch module fitted behind your existing switch, at Rs 1,649. You keep your normal switch and add app and voice control.
Do wireless light switches need WiFi?
No. An RF433 remote switch talks to its receiver by radio, so it works without WiFi or internet. Only phone control, timers and voice control need WiFi.
Do WiFi light switches need a neutral wire?
Most do. Many older Pakistani homes have no neutral wire at the switch board, so check before you buy, or fit a relay module at the ceiling point where the neutral already exists.
Can one switch work with both a remote and my phone?
Yes. The WiFi + RF433 mini smart switch costs Rs 2,299 and works with the Smart Life app, and an RF433 remote costs Rs 700, so Rs 2,999 in total. The remote keeps working when the WiFi is down.
Can I get a motion sensor light without an electrician?
Yes. A 9W motion sensor LED bulb (Rs 1,049) or an E27 bulb holder sensor (Rs 1,500) screws into an existing E27 light holder.
