Product details
The Metal Keypad Access Control System is a reliable standalone door entry solution designed for secure access management in residential and commercial environments.
It allows users to unlock doors using a secure PIN password, eliminating the need for physical keys or cards. The backlit keypad ensures smooth operation even in low-light conditions.
Built with a heavy-duty metal casing, this device offers excellent resistance against tampering and harsh environments, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor installations.
This access controller can be connected with electric strikes, magnetic locks, and door openers, providing flexible security integration.

A metal bodied keypad, built for doors where the reader itself is exposed. The S602EM differs from our plastic bodied keypads in one respect that matters more than any feature list: the housing. A metal keypad survives weather, heat, knocks, and deliberate interference in a way a plastic unit does not, which is why it is the one we recommend for external doors, gates, factory entrances, and any reader mounted where the public can reach it.
Why the body material is the deciding factor. An access control keypad sits on the unsecured side of the door by definition. That is the whole point of it, and it is also its weakness. A plastic reader on an outside wall in Karachi or Lahore faces direct sun, monsoon rain, dust, and whoever happens to be passing. Plastic housings become brittle with prolonged heat and sun exposure, crack, and then let moisture into the electronics. Metal handles all of that, and it also resists someone trying to prise or smash the unit to reach the wiring behind it.
Where it belongs. Main entrance doors, external gates, factory and warehouse entrances, boundary gates, stairwell doors in plazas, and any door where the reader is fully exposed rather than sitting in a sheltered internal corridor. For an internal office door in a controlled environment, our plastic bodied keypads do the same job for considerably less, and we will say so.
Card and PIN together. The unit accepts RFID cards and numeric PIN codes. In practice most premises use both: cards for permanent staff who pass through many times a day, and a rotating PIN for contractors, cleaners, and occasional visitors. When someone leaves, you delete their card or change the PIN in seconds rather than replacing a lock. For any business with staff turnover, that capability usually pays for the system within the first year.
Standalone operation, and why that suits most doors. The keypad stores its users on the device itself. There is no server, no software licence, no internet connection, and no monthly fee, and it continues working whether or not your broadband does. The trade off is that each door is managed at its own keypad and you get no centralised reporting. For one or two doors that is the sensible, economical arrangement. If you reach the point of managing many doors or need attendance records, a networked controller becomes worthwhile.
What else the door needs. The keypad is the controller, not the lock. A working installation also requires a lock, an exit button inside so people can leave, and a power supply rated for everything on the door. Glass and aluminium doors normally take a magnetic lock; wooden doors usually take an electric bolt lock. Ordering the keypad alone is the most common reason an electrician arrives and cannot finish the job, so we supply matched kits.
Weatherproofing in practice. Metal body notwithstanding, mount it under an overhang or in a sheltered position wherever possible. Seal the cable entry properly so water cannot track down the cable into the terminals, which is the most frequent cause of an outdoor reader failing after a monsoon season. Run the cable in conduit on the secure side, because an accessible cable behind an external reader is an obvious way to bypass it entirely.
Load shedding, and deciding how the door should behave. The keypad and lock both need power. What happens during an outage depends on the lock you pair it with: a magnetic lock releases and the door opens, while a fail secure bolt stays locked. Neither is automatically right, and it depends whether the door is an escape route or a secure entrance. Fit a backup supply or UPS if the door must keep functioning, and plan this at specification stage rather than discovering the behaviour during the first outage.
Choosing between our keypads. This metal S602EM is for exposed and external doors. Our standard RFID keypad at a lower price suits sheltered internal doors. We also stock a 24V version for systems running at that voltage, and the T11 for installations where its particular feature set fits. Tell us where the door is and we will point you to the right one rather than the dearest.
Can it be mounted outdoors? Yes, that is what the metal body is for, though a sheltered position still extends its life considerably.
What lock should I order with it? Magnetic for glass and aluminium doors, electric bolt for wooden. Send us a photograph of the door and we will confirm.
Does it need internet? No. It stores users on the device and works entirely offline.
How many users can it hold? Enough for typical commercial premises. Contact us for the exact figure on current stock, as specifications vary between batches.
Can it record attendance? This is an access control unit rather than a timekeeping device. Ask us about biometric attendance machines if you need attendance reports.
