Description

The North Bayou NB F100 Gas Spring Monitor Arm is a professional desk-mounted solution designed to enhance ergonomics, productivity, and workspace organization. Built with a precision gas spring mechanism, the F100 allows smooth height and angle adjustment while keeping your monitor firmly in place.

Ideal for offices, home workstations, gaming desks, and corporate environments, the NB F100 helps reduce neck and eye strain by enabling proper monitor positioning. Its full-motion flexibility allows users to tilt, swivel, rotate, and extend the screen for maximum comfort and efficiency.

Compatible with standard VESA 75×75mm and 100×100mm mounting patterns, the F100 supports a wide range of flat and curved monitors within supported weight limits. Easy installation using either a desk clamp or grommet mount makes it suitable for most desk setups. With its clean design and built-in cable management, the NB F100 delivers a modern and professional workspace upgrade.

What a gas spring monitor arm actually changes. The North Bayou F100A replaces the stand your monitor came with, clamping to the desk and holding the screen on an adjustable arm. The practical difference is that the screen moves when you want it to and stays exactly where you put it. A gas spring, rather than a stiff mechanical joint, means you reposition the monitor with one hand in a second, without loosening any knob.

Why the gas spring matters more than the specification sheet. Cheaper arms use friction joints that you tighten to hold position. They work at first, then loosen over months until the screen slowly droops through the day. A gas spring arm counterbalances the weight continuously, which is why it still holds position a year later. If you are choosing between a cheap arm and a gas spring arm, this is the difference you are paying for and it is the one that shows up over time.

Who benefits most. Office workers spending long hours at a screen, developers and designers who want the monitor higher and closer, anyone sharing a desk who needs to swing the screen toward a colleague, home offices where the desk doubles as something else, and trading or monitoring desks running multiple screens. It is also a straightforward fix for anyone whose monitor sits too low and who ends up looking down all day.

Getting the ergonomics right. The general guidance is that the top of the screen should sit at or slightly below eye level when you are sitting upright, with the monitor roughly an arm’s length away. Most factory stands are too low to achieve this, which is why people end up hunched forward with their neck bent down. Raising the screen to the correct height is the single change that makes the biggest difference to comfort over a long working day.

Check three things before ordering. First, your monitor’s VESA pattern, which is the square of four screw holes on the back, commonly 75x75mm or 100x100mm. Second, the screen weight, since every arm has a load range and a screen that is too light for the spring will not stay down while one that is too heavy will not stay up. Third, your desk edge thickness, because the clamp needs a suitable lip and a desk with a thick overhang, a rounded edge, or a glass top may need a different mounting approach.

Clamp or grommet mounting. The clamp fits over the back edge of the desk and needs clear access underneath. If your desk has a solid back panel, a modesty board, or sits flush against a wall, check there is room for the clamp to close properly. A grommet mount, which passes through a hole in the desk, is the alternative where clamping is not possible.

Screens without VESA holes. Some monitors, particularly slim consumer models, have no VESA pattern at all. A VESA adapter bracket solves this, and we stock them. Send us your monitor model if you are unsure and we will confirm before you order rather than after.

Rotation, tilt and swivel in practice. Full rotation lets you turn the screen to portrait orientation, which is genuinely useful for reading long documents, code, or long product listings. Tilt reduces glare from overhead lighting or a window behind you. Swivel lets you angle the screen toward someone standing beside the desk without moving the whole monitor. These are not marketing features; each solves a specific daily annoyance.

Cable management. Route the monitor cable and power lead along the arm channel rather than leaving them hanging. Beyond appearance, a cable trapped at the wrong point limits how far the arm can travel and eventually stresses the connector at the back of the screen. Leave enough slack for the arm’s full range of movement before securing anything.

Desk space you get back. Removing the factory stand frees the area it occupied, which is usually enough for a keyboard to sit further back or for a document to lie flat in front of the screen. On a small desk this is often the reason people fit an arm in the first place, ahead of the ergonomic benefit.

Single, dual or wall mount. The F100A is a single arm for one screen. If you run two monitors, a dual arm such as the F195A keeps both aligned at matching height, which is difficult to achieve with two separate stands. Where desk space is very tight or the desk cannot take a clamp, a wall mounted arm is worth considering instead. Tell us your setup and we will point you to the right one rather than the most expensive one.

Will it fit my monitor? Check the VESA pattern and screen weight against the arm’s rated range. Send us the monitor make and model on WhatsApp and we will confirm.

Can I mount a TV on it? This arm is designed for monitors within its stated size and weight range. For televisions, use a proper TV wall mount or floor stand, both of which we stock.

Does it work on a glass desk? Clamping to glass needs care and is not always advisable. Tell us your desk type and we will suggest a suitable mounting method.

Will the screen sag over time? That is the failure mode of friction arms. A correctly loaded gas spring arm holds its position, provided the screen weight is inside the rated range.
