Description

The No Touch Exit Button – Black Plastic is a hygienic and modern door release solution designed for access control systems.

Using infrared sensor technology, the door unlocks automatically when a hand is placed near the sensor — no physical contact required. This makes it ideal for hospitals, offices, restaurants, labs, and high-traffic environments where hygiene is important.

Built with a durable black ABS plastic body, it offers reliable performance and long service life. It supports NO (Normally Open), NC (Normally Closed), and COM connections, ensuring compatibility with magnetic locks, electric strikes, and drop bolt locks.

Wiring Diagram

The affordable way into touchless. This infrared exit button releases the door when a hand passes in front of it, with nothing pressed and nothing touched. It delivers the same hygiene benefit as metal faced touchless units at a considerably lower price, which makes it the sensible entry point if you are fitting touchless across several doors rather than one.

Black ABS plastic body, and an honest word about it. The plastic housing is entirely adequate indoors and is what keeps the cost down. It is not the right choice for a customer facing main entrance or a door taking very heavy daily traffic, where our stainless steel touchless units look better and last longer. For internal corridors, back of house doors, and moderate traffic, plastic is a sensible economy rather than a compromise.

The 3×3 panel format. This suits a standard square back box or single gang mounting, which is the most common fitting in Pakistani commercial installations. If your door has only a narrow mullion or slim frame with no room for a square plate, our slim 1×3 curved button is the geometry answer instead. Measure the flat area beside your door before ordering.

Why touchless gets specified. Hygiene is the obvious driver and became a formal requirement in clinical and food environments after COVID. The less obvious benefit is durability. A mechanical button on a busy corridor is pressed hundreds of times a week and the mechanism eventually wears out. An infrared sensor has no moving parts, so on high traffic doors it simply outlasts a push button.

Setting the sensing distance properly. This single adjustment decides whether people like the device or complain about it. Set too far, and the door releases every time someone walks along the corridor with no intention of leaving. Set too close, and users wave repeatedly then press the panel anyway out of frustration. A short range requiring a deliberate hand movement is almost always correct.

Indoor and sheltered positions only. Infrared sensing can behave unpredictably in strong direct sunlight, because sunlight itself contains infrared and confuses the sensor. Corridors, lobbies, and internal doorways are ideal. If your door is fully exposed to afternoon sun or driving rain, tell us and we will recommend an outdoor rated alternative rather than let you fit the wrong device.

NO, NC and COM output. All three are supplied, which matters because the correct one depends on your lock. Magnetic locks hold the door while powered, so releasing them requires the circuit to be broken, meaning NC. Electric bolt and strike locks generally use NO. Wiring this backwards produces a door that either never releases or never locks, and it is the most common installation error we see on exit devices.

Power requirement. Unlike a mechanical button, an infrared sensor needs power to operate, typically 12V DC from your access control supply. That supply must be rated for the sensor as well as the lock. This is easy to overlook when replacing a mechanical button with a touchless one, and an undersized supply causes intermittent faults that are frustrating to diagnose after the fact.

Load shedding. Because the sensor needs power, it stops working when power does. What that means for the door depends on your lock: a magnetic lock releases so people can leave, while a fail secure bolt stays locked. For any door on an escape route this matters, so fit a backup supply and an emergency break glass release so exit never depends on electronics being powered.

Does it work in the dark? Yes. Infrared operation does not depend on ambient light at all.

Can I use it outdoors? Not in exposed positions, because of sunlight interference. Ask us about outdoor rated options.

Will it work with my magnetic lock? Yes, using the NC output. Confirm your lock type with us and we will specify the wiring.

Should I pay more for the metal version? On a customer facing or very busy door, yes. On an internal corridor door, this does the same job.
