The T11, a compact keypad for straightforward single door installations. This is an RFID and password access control unit aimed at the most common job in the category: securing one door, for a manageable number of users, without a server, software, or ongoing cost. If that describes your requirement, the T11 does it without complication.

Card, PIN, or both. The unit reads RFID cards and accepts numeric PIN codes. In practice most premises use both, and for a sensible reason. Cards suit permanent staff passing through many times a day, since tapping is faster than typing. PIN codes suit contractors, cleaners, and occasional visitors, because you can issue a code verbally without handing over hardware and change it the moment the work is finished.

The real advantage over a key. When an employee leaves a business with mechanical locks, you either trust that no copy was made or you pay to change the cylinder and reissue keys to everyone else. With this, you delete their card from the unit in seconds and the matter is closed. For any business with staff turnover, that single capability usually covers the cost of the system within the first year.

Standalone, and what that means. The T11 stores its users on the device itself. There is no server, no software licence, no internet connection, and no subscription, and it keeps working whether or not your broadband is up. The trade off is that the door is managed at its own keypad and you get no central reporting. For one or two doors that is exactly the right arrangement. Once you are managing many doors, or need attendance records for payroll, a networked controller is the better direction and we can quote one.

Check the voltage and the location before ordering. Two checks prevent nearly every problem. First, confirm whether your system runs 12V or 24V, since we stock keypads for both and mismatching damages equipment. Second, consider where the reader sits: this is a plastic bodied unit suited to sheltered positions, so for a fully exposed external door or gate our metal bodied S602EM is the more durable choice. Send us a photograph of the door and your power supply label and we will confirm both.

What else the installation needs. The keypad is the controller, not the lock. A working door also requires the lock, an exit button on the inside so people can leave, and a power supply rated for everything on that door. Glass and aluminium doors normally take a magnetic lock; wooden doors usually take an electric bolt lock. We supply matched kits so an electrician is not left waiting on a missing component.

Managing cards properly. Issue one card per person rather than sharing between shifts, otherwise you lose any meaningful control over who entered. Keep a simple written register of which card belongs to whom. When a card is lost, delete it from the unit immediately, because a lost card is functionally identical to a lost key until it is removed.

Load shedding, and how the door behaves. Both keypad and lock need power. During an outage a magnetic lock releases and the door opens, while a fail secure bolt stays locked. Decide which behaviour the door requires and fit a backup supply accordingly. On any escape route, add an emergency break glass release so exit never depends on electronics being powered.

Mounting and cable security. The reader sits on the unsecured side of the door by definition. Run the cable in conduit and keep it inaccessible, because an exposed cable behind a keypad lets someone bypass the entire system without interacting with it at all.

Choosing between our keypads. The T11 for a straightforward sheltered single door. Our standard 12V keypad as the lowest cost option. The 24V version if your system runs at that voltage. The metal bodied S602EM for exposed external doors and gates. Tell us the door location and supply voltage and we will recommend rather than default to the dearest.

How many users can it store? Sufficient for typical small and medium premises. Contact us for the exact figure on current stock, since specifications vary between production batches.

Can I fit it outdoors? Only in a genuinely sheltered position. Choose the metal bodied unit for exposed doors.

Does it need internet? No. Users are stored on the device and it operates entirely offline.

Can it handle two doors? No, this is a single door controller. Each door needs its own unit, or a multi door networked controller.
