This 12V DC electric bolt lock secures the door by extending a solid stainless steel bolt into the frame when powered. The 5-wire system includes NO (Normally Open), NC (Normally Closed), and COM contacts, allowing real-time door and lock status feedback to access control panels, alarm systems, or security controllers.
The lock features a fail-safe mechanism, automatically unlocking when power is lost to ensure emergency exit safety.

A drop bolt that tells your system whether the door is actually locked. This 12V electric bolt lock uses a five wire connection providing both NO and NC status output, meaning it reports its real state back to your controller rather than leaving the system to assume the door locked correctly. For doors where you need certainty rather than hope, that feedback is the reason to choose this version.
What the status output genuinely buys you. A basic two wire bolt receives a signal to lock and that is the end of the conversation. If the bolt failed to enter its hole because the door was obstructed, misaligned, or not fully closed, nothing tells you. The door sits apparently secured and actually open, often overnight. With a status output, your access control panel knows the bolt did not engage and can raise an alert or log the event. On a server room, a cash office, a pharmacy store, or a stock room, that difference matters considerably.
NO and NC outputs, and why both are supplied. The five wires give a common plus both a normally open and a normally closed contact. Which you use depends on what is receiving the signal. Access control panels and alarm inputs differ in what they expect, and having both available means the lock suits either without needing a relay in between. If you only need a simple lock function, use the power pair and leave the status cores unconnected and insulated.
Fail secure operation and load shedding. Like other drop bolts, this stays locked when power is removed, which keeps the door secure through an outage. That is exactly right for a secure room overnight and a genuine consideration if the room must remain accessible. Without power and without a manual override, the door stays shut until supply returns. Decide this at specification stage: fit our key cylinder version, add a backup supply, or install an emergency break glass release if the door is on an escape route.
Bolt or magnetic lock for this kind of door. A magnet releases the instant power fails, suiting escape routes. A bolt physically pins the door and resists forcing far better, suiting secure rooms. Bolts also need much less mounting surface, which matters on narrow doors. Given this version is bought specifically for status monitoring, it usually goes on doors where security matters more than egress, which is where a bolt belongs.
Set the timer delay generously. The adjustable delay before the bolt drops lets the door close and settle before the bolt engages. Set too short, the bolt fires while the door is still swinging and jams or misses. Ironically, this is also the fault a status output will faithfully report, so setting the delay properly saves you from chasing alerts that reflect a setting rather than a problem.
Alignment, and why status output makes it easier to manage. A bolt must physically drop into a hole, and doors settle on their hinges while frames move with heat and humidity through the Pakistani year. The advantage here is that misalignment shows up in the logs as failed locking events rather than as a silent problem discovered weeks later. Fit the receiving plate so the bolt lands centred, and treat repeated status failures as a prompt to re-check alignment.
Wiring the extra cores. Label all five wires at both ends. A three or five wire lock is dramatically easier to maintain when whoever comes next can see which core is common, which is NO, and which is NC, rather than working it out with a meter. Run everything in conduit on the secure side of the door.
What the complete installation needs. The lock, a controller such as a keypad or card reader capable of accepting the status input, an exit button inside, a power supply rated for the lock, and mounting hardware for your door type. If your current controller has no status input, tell us and we will suggest one that does, otherwise the feature you paid for goes unused.
Do I need the status output version? Only if something will actually read it. On a door with a basic controller and no monitoring, the standard two wire bolt does the same locking job for less.
Can I use it on a glass door? For frameless glass use our glass door drop bolt with the correct U bracket or patch fitting.
Is it suitable for a fire exit? Not alone. A fail secure bolt on an escape route needs an emergency break glass release fitted alongside.
What if my panel has no status input? Leave the status cores unconnected, or ask us about controllers that support door status monitoring.
