Momentary or latching, the decision that matters most. This is worth settling before anything else, because getting it wrong means the panel does not work as intended. A momentary button, like this one, is active only while held. A latching or maintained button stays in position after pressing and must be pressed again to release. Start buttons on machinery are almost always momentary, because the machine should be started deliberately and then held on by a contactor rather than by the button itself. Power on switches, machine enables, and lamp controls are usually latching. If you are replacing an existing button, check which type it is before ordering rather than assuming.

Why 22mm is the size to ask for. 22mm refers to the panel cutout diameter, and it is the international standard for industrial control devices. That standardisation is genuinely useful: a 22mm button fits any 22mm hole, so you can replace a failed switch from a different manufacturer without redrilling the panel, and you can mix start, stop, selector, and indicator devices from different sources in one enclosure. When ordering a replacement, measure the hole rather than the button.

The RGB LED, and what to check before ordering. The illuminated ring makes the button visible in a dim plant room and lets you signal status by colour. The important check is voltage. LED buttons are made for specific supply voltages, commonly 12V, 24V, or 220V, and connecting one to the wrong supply either fails to light it or destroys it immediately. Confirm your control voltage before ordering and tell us, and we will supply the correct version.

NO and NC contacts. Push buttons are supplied with normally open contacts, normally closed contacts, or both. A start button typically uses NO, so pressing completes the circuit. A stop button uses NC, so pressing breaks it, which is the safe arrangement because a broken wire also stops the machine rather than leaving it running. Tell us what the button is controlling and we will confirm which configuration you need.

Machine control panels in factories and workshops, motor starter panels, pump and compressor controls, conveyor and production line stations, generator control boards, and building services panels. Anywhere a panel needs a durable button that operators press many times a day for years.

Metal body and why it matters in industrial use. A plastic button in a workshop cracks eventually, and a cracked button lets in dust and moisture. A metal body handles the knocks that panel mounted controls attract, resists heat, and holds up in the dusty conditions common in Pakistani factories and workshops. On a panel that will be in service for years, the difference is worth it.

Check panel thickness before you order. Every panel mount device has a maximum panel thickness it can clamp. Most standard sheet steel enclosures are within range, but thick panels or those with additional facing material may not be. Measure yours if there is any doubt.

A note on emergency stops. This is a standard control button and is not an emergency stop device. Emergency stops require a mushroom head, a latching action that stays engaged until deliberately released, and normally closed contacts, and they are subject to specific safety expectations. Do not substitute an ordinary push button for one. If you need an emergency stop for your panel, ask us and we will supply the correct device.
